PRERACE INFORMATION

FORMING A TEAM

Want to make a team for Moms on the Run? You can for the 5K, 10K, or walking portion, and making your team is easy!

 

After clicking on the register button, select Create a Team  and name your team. Once your registration is completed, you will receive a separate confirmation for the creation of the team that provides a link to manage the team and a code that controls the access the team list. You will also be able to invite, family, co-workers, and friends to join the team.  

To join the team, click on the Registration button. Select the Team drop-down menu and select your existing team.

PACKET PICK-UP

This takes place the day before the race, on Saturday, May 11th from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Foster Field parking lot at Reno High School.

You will pick up your bib numbers, Moms On The Run participant’s shirt, and a bag of goodies called a “packet”.

For participants coming in from outside the Reno/Sparks area packet pickup will also be available event day, Sunday, May 12th from 7:00 a.m. – 8:00 a.m. at Reno High School, Foster Field, the event site. 

*Late Registration will be available at Packet Pick-up on Saturday with entrance fees being increased.

*Registered 5K & 10K participants wishing to change the event in which they will participate can do so at Packet Pickup on Saturday before Mother’s Day. If wishing to walk instead of run, there is no need to notify us.

EVENT PARKING

Additional parking is available at Reno High School and parking attendants will direct vehicles to convenient area. Plan to arrive early to snag a good parking spot!

The direction of the start of the race is aimed to make leaving the area after the race as easy as possible.

WARM-UP &

OPEN CEREMONIES

7 - 8:30 AM

Prior to 8:30, you can pick up breakfast and packets if you didn't retrieve them on Saturday.

At 8:30, all participants are asked to move to Foster Dr. behind the STARTLINE facing EAST. 5K and 10K RUNNERS should gather near the front; 5K Walk and Talkers should gather in the back of the crowd behind the runners. Nonparticipants and spectators should keep to the sides of Foster Dr.

*No dogs are allowed in any of the events

10K & 5K RUN

9:00 AM

Runners should position themselves on Foster Dr. behind the STARTLINE facing EAST.  All runners must wear their bib numbers on the front. Race Marshals will use these bibs to direct you on the right path, and the bibs also have the timing chip attached to them. Do not remove the foam adhesive at any time.

When finishing the race, please don't stop in the Finishers Chute. Times will be available near the tented event area or posted on the Reno High snack bar building wall and then available online the week following the race.

QR codes will be provided for immediate race times.

5K WALK

9:10 AM-ish

The 5K Walk'n Talk is for walkers only and is not a timed event.

 

Participants should gather on Foster Dr. behind the 5K & 10K runners, separated by a rope and signage.

 

Walkers will travel east to the end of Foster Dr. and will turn left at Booth St. and proceed along the course by the Truckee River.

BON BON STROLL

10:45 AM-ish

The Bon Bon Stroll is for walkers only and will take place at the Reno High School track. 

*Start times are subject to change slightly to accomodate the vibe of the crowd and natural progression of the day's previous events.

1/4 MILE RUN & KIDLET'S RACE

11:15 AM-ish

For children under age 10, this run will be one time around the track and is not a timed event. Ribbons will be awarded to all entrants.

RACE DAY GUIDELINES

Here are a few tips and guidelines that we ask all participants to review and keep in mind to ensure our event is safe, efficient, fair and FUN!

  • The front of the START line is for the fastest runners; those usually expecting to do under-6 minute miles. Slower runners should find a place farther back in the runners pack on Foster Dr. before the start of the race. There will be numeric signs on tall PVC poles along the side of Foster with 6, 8, and 10 indicating target minutes per mile to help place runners before the start. Please, no last second team pictures in the front of the Start line. There is a photo area with a Moms on the Run banner for team pictures by the Registration Tents.

  • Those children under 10-years old registered for the Kidlets event and issued a bib number  “1” should not participate in the 5k Run or 10K Run events. They may participate in the 5K Walk and should start behind the Walker Corral sign and yellow rope, located behind all runners. All participants who wish to participate in the 5K and 10K run, including those under 10, must register as a runner and pay the full entrance price. All participants who wish to participate in the 5K walk, of all ages should register and should pay the appropriate entrance pricefor any running or walking event.

  • Moms on the Run is a charitable event for the benefit of women of Northern Nevada while they are in treatment for various cancers. We are very unique in that the funds we raise go DIRECTLY toward assisting these women and their every day needs. Plus, all funds raised here, stay here - we are proud to stay 100% local. We are dependent upon our volunteers, commercial contributors and the awareness of our participants of our mission to raise money for those that need it. We ask that attendees and participants honor our efforts by sharing in the festivities, respectful of our desire that everyone enjoy themselves but exercise personal restraint in what is offered freely. No one should participate in any event without paying. Of course, Moms on the Run is open to the public and visitors and family are encouraged to cheer for family and friends that participate.
